Christchurch based amateur boxing referee/judge, Ross Stubley, has been invited
by the world amateur boxing governing body (AIBA) to officiate at the 2010 AIBA Youth World
Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Youth boxing is for 17 and 18 year olds. The tournament will cover eleven-weight divisions
and 109 countries have registered their boxers to compete.
Starting on April 20 and ending May 2 this will be a huge challenge and experience for Ross.
Ross currently has a two star status which allows him to officiate at Commonwealth Games,
Asia Games and Oceania Championships. Ross will be assessed for an upgrade to three
star at this competition. A three star status means that he can officiate at World
Championships and Olympic Games.
